What should I do if I think I have mental ill-health?

It is really important to know when you should seek help if you feel you have mental ill-health. Remember if you had flu or a physical injury you would go to the Doctors.

Of course, seeking help is a difficult first step towards getting and staying well. It can be hard to know how to start, where to turn and who to turn to.

You may feel unsure and wonder whether you should try to handle things on your own. You may turn to a friend or family member who unhelpfully tells you to "pull yourself together" or "you will get over it".

Remember it is ok not to be okay and it is perfectly acceptable to ask for help.

You might want to seek help if you're:

Worrying more than usual

Feeling stressed and anxious

Finding it hard to enjoy your life

Having difficulties sleeping, eating and/or relaxing

Having thoughts and feelings that are difficult to cope with
