CBT, or Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy is a psychological treatment that was developed through scientific research. That is, all of the components of CBT have been tested by researchers to determine whether they are effective and that they do what they are intended to do. CBT is based on the idea that how you think (cognitive)
and feel (emotions) will affect the way you behave.
Research has shown that CBT is one of the most effective treatments for the management of depression, anxiety and disorders. CBT can help in many different situations and for controlling and managing mental illness's.
The good news is that although it is best that you start sessions with someone who is qualified, you can go on and apply CBT principles at home to manage your own mental health.
My sessions generally last 1 hour and I will always prefer to have an initial no obligation phone chat.
I will see clients in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Newport, Bath and surrounding areas.
I am happy to travel to see the client or have sessions in South Gloucestershire or central Bristol.
Skype sessions are also available if the client prefers.
